My husband says this all the time. He says it is from a rhyme or story he knew as a child. I can't find what it is from. Any suggestions?
Did some research and found three versions of a poem that seem to fit the one your husband remembers. Check out the versions we found below.
Nobody knows the rabbit's nose,
The way it twitches
The way it goes
Constantly on it's face!
Nobody knows the rabbit's ears,
The way he listens,
And what he hears
And his sad little rabbit tears!
Nobody knows a rabbit's eyes,
Red as rubies
Without surprise,
In his square fur face!
Here's another version:
Nobody knows the rabbit's nose,
The way it twitches
The way it goes
Nobody knows rabbit's feet,
The way they squash
Everything good to eat!
Nobody knows a rabbit's paw
And how it can
Get very sore!
Nobody knows a rabbit's ear,
The way they prick
When it senses fear!
And let's just face it,
We don't know much about rabbit's and
The way a rabbit goes!
Here's the third version we found:
Nobody knows the rabbit's nose,
The way it twitches,
The way it goes!
Nobody knows the rabbit's ears,
The way they listen
The way they hear!
Nobody knows the rabbits toes,
The way they hop the highs,
The way they bounce the lows!
Nobody knows the rabbit's eyes,
The way they look,
The way they despise!
